Christmas Countdown
I'm sure most of you will have work and family Christmas parties to go to over the next few weeks. Here are a list of tips to stay lean and healthy while you hop from one festivity to the next.

1. Eat before you go. If you're planning to be at a party at 7pm have an early substantial dinner by 6pm with some healthy starchy complex carbs. Once you get there, you'll only really be craving salads and I'll allow you a glass of red.

2.Be as active as possible during Dec/Jan. Now that things have slowed down, take advantage of your free time by going for a powerwalk, strolling with friends, mall walking and cleaning up around the house.

3.Just say NO to certain foods.
Make a list of NO foods and carry them with you in your wallet or purse.
My NO foods for December are:
Cheese, Bread, Sweets and Cakes and Milk Chocolate.
My YES substitutes will be:
Soy and/or Almond Milk, 100% Rye bread and/or flourless pita bread, Raw nut bars, Gluten and sugar free snacks/bars and 80%plus cacao dark chocolate.

4.Express workout variety.
Pull out some routines from Mens Fitness or a fitness website and tackle them at the gym. If you work with a personal trainer present them with some exercise routines you would like to work on. This will keep you motivated during this festive season.

5.Clothing and Food Makeover.
Treat yourself to some sporty hip new clothes that enhance your shape and plan a day or two a week of trying healthy foods and meals you don't normally eat. If you're not sure we can tour Wholefoods.
